Penny & Steve's Farbridge Summer Wedding

It was a hot August day in West Dean, where Penny and Steve chose to marry in the idyllic rustic barns of Farbridge. Set in the heart of the Sussex Downs, these beautifully restored barns played host to a dreamy day, full of fun, laughter and romance. The styling, theming and decor were awash with on-trend cool pastel mint and warm peachy tones. Echoing throughout the barns, this soft-hued palette enhanced the venue and reflected the couple’s lovely relaxed approach and easy-going personalities, whilst the best of our british summer weather complimented the calming and romantic ambience of the day. The evolving magical light added so much feeling, starting with its cool pale blue skies, then coating the vast corn fields beyond the barns in the warm blanket of gold. Finally all the richest of colours were captured as the day finally ended in a glorious peachy pink sunset before totally fading away.

Mellow Yellows & Secret Sparkle

Rachel & Stephen's Upwaltham Barns Summer Wedding

I was delighted to be asked to photograph Rachel and Stephen’s wedding day having already photographed a family member’s wedding a couple of years back. It was lovely to see some familiar faces and to once again be part of an exciting celebration that had brought many friends and family members together once again. The cheerfulness of the day was almost radiating out of the couple whilst reflecting through the sunny yellow themes that Rachel had chosen. The stunning country setting of Upwaltham Barns on that vibrant mid-July day remained the perfect location for the nuptials, combining rustic charm with the season-inspired soft summery mellow hues and hints of sparkle seen throughout the decor and styling.

Emily & Zach's Southend Barns Summer Wedding

The last day of June this year was steaming hot, perfect for outdoor nuptials and particularly ideal for the exciting debut of the brand new outdoor ceremony area at Southend Barns. Emily and Zach had been planning their wedding for two years and so it was a wonderful surprise for them to discover they could marry in this newly created bespoke space. It had been sweetly named ‘The Secret Garden’ which was due to be finished and ready for use just in time for the couple’s big day. Being a gardener by trade, this tranquil hideaway outdoor area particularly appealed to Zach who would really appreciate all of the rustic textures, including the lush green leafy plants and trees, wooden log feature walls and original flint stone barn walls. The couple felt hugely honoured to find out they would be amongst the first to marry in this beautiful garden space and of course it was a treat for me to have an additional beautiful backdrop to frame the bride and her groom exchanging rings and promises.
